Trip Overview
This 14-day Egypt and Morocco tour brings two North African icons together in one trip: the temples of the Nile and the medinas and dunes of Morocco. You spend the first week in Egypt, with the Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum and a 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor.
A direct flight then takes you from Cairo to Casablanca. In Morocco you drive north to blue Chefchaouen, explore the old medina of Fes, ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night at a Sahara camp, and finish in Marrakech. The same Crossroads team plans both countries, so the handover is seamless. In Fes you walk through the UNESCO-listed medina, a highlight of any Egypt and Morocco tour.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive in Cairo
Meet and assist at the airport and private transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2 - Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum
The Giza Plateau, the Sphinx and the Tutankhamun galleries with a private Egyptologist. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3 - Fly to Aswan and board the cruise
Philae Temple and the High Dam, then embark on a 5-star Nile cruise. Overnight on board.
Day 4 - Kom Ombo
Optional Abu Simbel trip at dawn. Sail to Kom Ombo and on to Edfu. Overnight on board.
Day 5 - Edfu and Luxor
The Temple of Horus at Edfu, sail to Luxor and visit Luxor Temple in the evening. Overnight on board.
Day 6 - Luxor and fly to Cairo
The Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Karnak, then an evening flight to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 7 - Fly to Casablanca
Flight to Casablanca, meet and assist, and a visit to the Hassan II Mosque on the ocean front. Overnight in Casablanca.
Day 8 - Rabat to Chefchaouen
The Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower in Rabat, then drive into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 9 - Chefchaouen to Fes
Morning walk in the blue medina, then drive via the Roman ruins of Volubilis to Fes. Overnight in Fes.
Day 10 - Fes
Guided day in Fes el Bali: the tanneries, Al-Qarawiyyin and the madrasas. Overnight in Fes.
Day 11 - Into the Sahara
Drive through the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Sunset camel trek into the dunes and a night in a desert camp.
Day 12 - Todra Gorge
Sunrise over the dunes, then the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley. Overnight in Dades.
Day 13 - Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech
The UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 14 - Marrakech and departure
Morning guided tour of the Bahia Palace, the souks and Jemaa el-Fna, then transfer to the airport.

Can I do Morocco first?

Do I need a visa for Morocco?
Many nationalities, including US, UK, EU, Canadian and Australian citizens, enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. Check with us for your passport.
Is the desert night comfortable?
You sleep in a private tent with a proper bed. Nights are cold from November to February, so bring a warm layer.
