Trip Overview
This 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour gives you Morocco’s Sahara without committing a whole week. You leave Marrakech over the High Atlas, stop at the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and follow the road of a thousand kasbahs through the Dades Valley.
On day three you reach the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga. A camel trek takes you to your camp for sunset, dinner and a night under the stars. It works on its own, as an add-on to a Marrakech city break, or as the desert part of a longer trip. Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best stops on any Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour.

FAQ
Can this be done in 3 days?
Yes, by skipping the Marrakech day. The driving days are long, so 4 days is more comfortable.
Is the desert camp private?
You get a private tent with a proper bed and an en-suite bathroom; the dining tent is shared.
Can I end in Fes?
Yes. Finishing in Fes is shorter and fits well before a trip north to Chefchaouen.
Is it too hot in summer?
June to August days in Merzouga can pass 40°C. Spring and autumn are best; winter days are mild but nights are cold.
