This 12-day Egypt and Jordan tour with Nile cruise is the complete two-country trip: Cairo and the Pyramids, a 5-star Nile cruise through Upper Egypt, then Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. It suits first-time visitors who want the big names of both countries without rushing.
You fly from Cairo to Aswan and sail north to Luxor, visiting the temples at Philae, Kom Ombo and Edfu on the way. After the Valley of the Kings you fly back to Cairo and on to Amman. Five days in Jordan cover the King’s Highway, a full day in Petra, a night under the stars in Wadi Rum and a final float in the Dead Sea. Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive in Cairo
Meet and assist at the airport and private transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2 - Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum
The Giza Plateau, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum with a private Egyptologist. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3 - Fly to Aswan and board the cruise
Morning flight to Aswan, Philae Temple and the High Dam, then embark on your 5-star Nile cruise. Optional evening Nubian village visit. Overnight on board.
Day 4 - Kom Ombo and Edfu
Optional pre-dawn trip to Abu Simbel. Sail to Kom Ombo for the double temple of Sobek and Horus, then on to Edfu. Overnight on board.
Day 5 - Edfu Temple and sail to Luxor
Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, sail to Luxor and see Luxor Temple at sunset. Overnight on board.
Day 6 - Luxor West and East Banks, fly to Cairo
Optional sunrise balloon ride. The Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, the Colossi of Memnon and Karnak, then an evening flight to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 7 - Old Cairo and fly to Amman
Morning at the Citadel and Khan El Khalili, afternoon flight to Amman. Overnight in Amman.
Day 8 - Jerash and Amman
The Roman city of Jerash, then the Amman Citadel and the Roman Theatre. Overnight in Amman.
Day 9 - Madaba, Mount Nebo and Kerak to Petra
The mosaic map, Mount Nebo and Kerak Castle along the King’s Highway. Overnight in Petra.
Day 10 - Petra and Wadi Rum
Full guided day from the Siq to the Treasury and the Royal Tombs, with an optional Monastery climb. Drive to Wadi Rum for a camp dinner and overnight.
Day 11 - Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea
Morning 4×4 jeep safari, then an afternoon float at the Dead Sea. Overnight at a Dead Sea resort.
Day 12 - Departure
Transfer to Amman airport for your flight home.
