Trip Overview
This Hurghada to Cairo day trip is for guests staying on the Red Sea who don’t want to leave Egypt without standing in front of the Great Pyramid. It’s a private trip: your own car, driver and Egyptologist, with no other guests and no waiting for a group.
You’ll walk the Giza plateau, see the Sphinx up close and spend the afternoon at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where Tutankhamun’s full burial collection is shown together for the first time. Lunch is at a local restaurant with a view of the pyramids. You can read about the sites on Egypt’s official monuments site before you go.
We pick you up from your hotel around 3:00 am and you’re back around 11:00 pm. It’s a long day, but the car is comfortable and most guests sleep on the way. We pick up from any hotel in Hurghada, El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay, Soma Bay and Safaga.
Prefer to fly? This trip is also available by plane on request, for an extra fee. Flight times change by season, so send us your dates and we’ll quote you the full price with flights.

Itinerary
3:00 am - Hotel pickup
Your driver meets you in the lobby. A breakfast box is waiting in the car.
9:00 am - Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx
Your Egyptologist meets you at the plateau. You’ll see the three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the panorama point and the Sphinx. Entry inside the Great Pyramid is optional.
12:30 pm - Lunch
Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant near the plateau.
1:45 pm - Grand Egyptian Museum
About 2.5 hours with your guide: the Grand Staircase, the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Tutankhamun galleries.
4:30 pm - Drive back to Hurghada
You’re back at your hotel around 11:00 pm.
