If you have one week, this 8 day Egypt tour is the trip to take. You get three days in Cairo for the Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the old city, then fly south for a 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor.
Unlike most 8-day itineraries, Abu Simbel is included rather than sold as an extra. You see the temples of Ramses II at sunrise before re-joining the ship. The trip ends with the Valley of the Kings and Karnak, and a flight back to Cairo for your last night. Opening hours for every site are on the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities website, and we handle all tickets on this 8 day Egypt tour.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive in Cairo
Meet and assist at the airport and private transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2 - Pyramids, Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum
The Giza Plateau and the Sphinx, the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Lunch included. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3 - Old Cairo
The Citadel and Muhammad Ali Mosque, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and its Royal Mummies Hall, Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 4 - Fly to Aswan and board the cruise
Morning flight to Aswan, Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk, embarkation and a sunset felucca ride. Overnight on board.
Day 5 - Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo
Early drive to Abu Simbel for the temples of Ramses II and Nefertari, back to the ship and sail to Kom Ombo. Overnight on board.
Day 6 - Edfu and Luxor
The Temple of Horus at Edfu, sail to Luxor and see Luxor Temple lit up at night. Overnight on board.
Day 7 - Luxor and fly to Cairo
Optional sunrise balloon. The Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, the Colossi of Memnon and Karnak, then an evening flight to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8 - Departure
Transfer to Cairo airport for your flight home.

Yes. The drive, the guide and the entrance tickets are all in the price.
Why fly instead of the train?
Flights save about 24 hours of travel across the week. We can quote a sleeper-train version if you prefer.
When do the Nile cruises sail?
Aswan departures run on set weekdays, so we fit your Cairo days around the sailing date.
